Blockbuster Entertainment is a video and DVD rental store located in Ryde, Isle of Wight, at 64 Union Street. It provides its customers with various entertaining options to make their evenings enjoyable. People can choose between their extensive collection of movies and tv shows and rent them at affordable prices. Unfortunately, the store is going to close soon, according to recent news. The joint statement released by Blockbuster suggests that the closure is due to financial reasons and that the two Isle of Wight stores' closure is regrettable. Although Blockbuster's Ryde store may be closing down, the organization continues to impact the entertainment industry through its academy - BB Academy. The academy began in 2020 and has since gained recognition across the industry, having produced some of the best scenes and short films. Even though Blockbuster's name may not be as popular in recent years, it has still managed to create a lasting impact. The closure of Civic Video West Ryde in 2017 reminds us of the days Blockbuster ruled the industry. Its reputation is still significant and continually referenced, as shown by the recent statement made by Javid who likened NHS to the defunct video store, Blockbuster.
