FAQs

One to One Counselling, in person or online, is £60 per 50 minute session. One to One Life Coaching, in person or online, is £75 per hour. Couple's Counselling (you both attend), in person or online, is £75 per 50 minute session. Creative Arts Therapy, in person only, is £85 per 75 minute session. Counselling Supervision, in person or online, individual or group (max 3), is £40 per hour. CPD Workshops, in person only, group, is £35 per two hour workshop.

Once we have agreed on a meeting date and time, I send you a confirmation with request to fill in a form and a link to a contract. During the first session we take time to get to know each other, find out what the issues are you want to work on and with that, if we are a good fit. If we are, I usually contract first for 6 sessions, which will take place same day and time weekly. Of course we will review this throughout.

It's a bit of a list.. DipHE, BA (hons), Adv Dip (level 7) and a whole stack of CPD - does that make any sense to you? Every therapist who is worth their salt has ongoing Continued Professional Development for at least 30 hours a year; mine are in the field of Gestalt, ACT, CBT, ADHD, ASD, DID, Existentialism, Trauma - to name a few...

Well, I was working in Customer Services (chained to a desk with a headset) after my HR Qualifications did not 'translate' (from The Netherlands) and my good friend (and a counsellor) asked me why I did not put my skills to good use, instead of being bogged down in the world of complaints... There my journey began (well, my therapy journey started a lot earlier in life, but that story is for another time)...

High Functioning Clients Yes, that is you! Overall you function well in life, you look after your own basic and psychological needs, probably even making sure that these needs are met for others (parents, siblings, dependants, friends etc.). You know there is something more to life than just existing and you aim to live a full and meaningful life. Although sometimes it might feel like spinning plates, pushing that boulder up hill, no rest for the wicked... Therapy can help looking after you, while you look after others. Therapy can help figuring out why you do what you do, while you do not have to change this. Therapy can help to sort out the jumble in your head and heart. Therapy can help you to achieve your full potential; experiencing, learning and integrating everything on your journey - growing into the person you are meant to be! Diagnosis and Labels You might have been diagnosed with something or are awaiting a label that might make sense of who you are or why you do what you do or might explain why you feel like you do. This could help with 'treatment', although remember that you are more than just a label! We cannot control how we feel (mentally and physically) or what we think (usually habitually and automatic) - we can manage these. And we can decide that what is in our control is our behaviour! Becoming aware and consciously deciding, making a choice, taking our own responsibility with what we do. Therapy can help you to become more aware, support you to make your own conscious choices, be at peace with who you are! Life Experiences and Challenges The most 'common' life experiences and challenges I support clients with are Anger Management, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Bereavement, Depression, Dissociate Identity Disorder (DID), Relationship Communication, Stress Prevention / Reduction / Coping Techniques, Transgender / Gender Identity, Trauma / Traumatic Experience etc. Individuals, Couples, aged *information hidden*.

That is a weird question.. Although it makes sense on this website. Overall I enjoy all my work! Some clients are with me six weeks, others over 8 years and anything in between.. Some clients I see weekly, others bi-weekly, monthly or quarterly. Some dip in and out - come back at times when needed or never to be seen again, living their lives to the fullest :)

Do your research; what do you feel you need? What works for some, might not work for you.. Do you need to off load or do you need to learn new ways of coping / relating? Do you need to be challenged or do you need to feel supported? One does not negate the other and it would be helpful if you know what you need (what you want might be something different :)

What would you like to know from your therapist? Feel free to ask anything! Some therapist will reply with a therapeutic answer; interesting question - where did that come from/this seems to be really important to you? And some therapists will reply and answer the question... If you are left wondering how I would reply.. Ask and you could find out!
