About Gavin Dingley, Immigration Barrister

Professional experience
Gavin is a Direct access Immigration Barrister/Lawyer who provides immigration advice and representation at every level of the Tribunal and Court system. He was called to the Bar in 2015 and has made it his goal to ensure that all who need first-rate representation and advice are able to obtain it. Unlike many other practitioners, Gavin represents both migrants and the Home Office so brings a unique understanding of litigation strategy and the Home Office’s approach to decision making. Gavin practices from one of the best immigration chambers at the English Bar and has closely followed the changes in immigration law and often presents immigration law updates for solicitors and law firms around the country. He also has extensive experience of representing the Home Office in appeals in the First-tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal and High Court. He now employs his knowledge to assist appellants and applicants with their complex immigration problems which require his unique insight as to how the Home Office work. Until fairly recently, applicants had to use a solicitor because it was not possible to approach a barrister directly. However, after the law changed, it is now possible for members of the public, like you, to approach barristers directly and Gavin was one of the first specialist immigration barristers to embrace the opportunities that this has provided. To this end, Gavin became qualified to take instructions directly from the public along with solicitors with whom he has and does work closely at every stage in a case from providing advice in conferences to appearing in the Court of Appeal. He is also licensed to litigate as well as merely deal with the public and this means he can do all of what a solicitor can do and more, often at a fraction of the price and with the benefit of direct contact and involvement from the outset. Gavin is directly supported by a team who are on call 24 hours a day and seven days a week, something which marks him out as unique in the field of direct access immigration law/barristers. Finally, Gavin has a proven record of success and achieves good results for his clients who often approach him after their previous solicitor or legal representative has jeopardised their case with poor prior representation.

I believe Gavin meant well as he stated. However his arrogant mean communication style raising voice telling me „first of all where/how did you get my number” sounding „I don’t think you can afford me at £450 an hour and next claiming that I only want to sue someone because „I don’t like what they said” was highly unprofessional and actually aggressive …. It’s ….„may I ask how did you obtain my contact. My fees are at present £450 per hour if this is something of an interest to you” dear Gavin. and lastly not really knowing full case not sure what advice was this meant to be. Never actually wanted to leave the review but the system keeps asking me to do so.

I have seen a few lawyers and Barristers over the years for my immigration issue and many have been unable to help me. Until I met Gavin who has been Godsent. Gavin was proactive in following up with the Home office and also kept me updated on every step. Gavin was very efficient. It’s only been a few months and I have already gotten my decision from the Home Office. There was no point where I felt worried, I knew my case was in good hands. He always got back to me immediately or would send a message to set up a time for our meetings. Gavin is a good listener and he gave me sound legal advice. I was also able to split the cost over several months which was very helpful. I will definitely be back when applying for my Indefinite leave to remain and I will undoubtedly recommended him. Amazing barrister!

If I could give Gavin more than five stars, I would have done it. From the first day we spoke on the phone, he made me at ease and accepted to help with my case which was applying to stay in the UK. I want to express my most sincere thanks for the most professional representation. You have been anything but amazing and reassuring dealing with this stressful case. I admire his work ethic and most of all excellent representation. Gavin was helpful in every way possible. I was worried about my case, but he reassured me and did everything he could and it turned out positively. I highly recommend Gavin to anyone who needs a lawyer. Very professional and great at what he does.

FAQs

MY FEES As a Barrister, I believe that my clients should be in control of what they pay when they pay and how they pay for my legal services. That’s why, rather than giving you a single fee quote, I will always provide you with some free initial advice followed by a range of fee options to choose from, based on the level of service that you prefer. You’ll also have control over when you pay my professional fees. Whether you wish to pay for everything in advance or agree to a flexible instalment plan, the choice is yours. Paying my professional fees is straightforward too. I accept Paypal and all major credit cards and cash, but if you’d rather arrange a bank transfer then that’s also fine. Again, it’s entirely up to you. Free Initial Advice I do not charge for considering new enquiries. Whether you are an individual or a business, you can contact me for free and your enquiry will be reviewed directly by me. I will let you know when I am available and I will then provide you with some free initial advice by email or over the phone to understand your case and the help you need. Fixed Fees I conduct all my work on an agreed fixed fee basis. There are no hourly rates and no hidden extras. At the outset, as your barrister, I will take time to understand your needs and agree both the scope of work and a timeframe for the work to be completed. Once I know what you need and by when I will offer you a range of fixed fees that will cover all of the work required. My quote will assume that you will provide me with the necessary information to deliver the agreed scope of work within the agreed timeframe. In discussion with you, I may charge additional fees if the scope of work or timeframe changes for reasons beyond my control. Competitive Fees My fees are highly competitive because, unlike many traditional barristers, I work directly with my clients, without the involvement of a solicitor. This means that my clients only need to pay for one lawyer rather than two. I also keep my overheads and fixed costs down by using electronic case-management systems and other technologies that ensure a streamlined service for my clients.

A client will call me with their enquiry or request advice by email. I also offer in-person consultations in my Chambers and via Zoom/Skype.
