Cotfield Hedgeworks and Tree Surgery

We price treework differently from hedges, which is different again from regular maintenance. Our landscaping jobs are also slightly different. It's a very easy system aimed at covering our staff wages, materials, and a contribution to our overheads which are dominated by vehicle, fuels, tool and insurance costs. We will break down any quote with no issues at all.

New client the first thing is to meet and see the tree/garden or hedge etc....get an idea of what is required and discuss method or logistics. Form a price/timescale and agree a date.

I've always had an interest in landscaping and planting as a visual addition to any house or business. In 2010 my friend brought me in to assist with his tree surgery. Following his emigration clients wished to still have the services I'd learnt to provide. I have one staff member studying arboriculture at Kirkley Hall and one temporary addition with a landscaping background. We have invested quite a lot in reading material from world renowned tree specialists. We also have a program of courses due over the next few years including advanced first aid and Ipaf platform qualifications.

As above always had a keen interest, and dabbled Km landscaping for family and friends. Following a 3 year stint for Ferel Tree works, Rea Treeworks, and the odd shift with Gosforth Tree Surgeons set up my own offering.

We've taken on a huge variety of work, all over the North East, and completed large treework projects down to small garden makeovers. Clients from all areas, both business and personal.

Most enjoyment currently is a garden which we have maintained for over a year. Seeing the difference from when we started brings a huge visual sense of the work put in.

Make sure they have insurance. Make sure they have a landline.

Timescale is always a question which comes quite early, as it jobs need to be scheduled with staff, machines, in some cases applications to councils and road authorities.
