FAQs

Not really, It depends on how many dogs clients have, how often they need my services, how far I have to travel to collect/drop off their dog.what additional services they may require. But I do offer very competitive rates and do offer weekend services, unlike other companies and am flexible and can adapt to your needs. In general I charge from £5.00 for times needed when a cleint wants their dog let out in the garden/fed/given any medication during the day when they are out and on average £10 for an good hour and a half varied walk ( and this doesn't include travel time to and from clients homes)..and offer discounts for multi dog homes / day care/ longer walks/sole dog walks etc

I meet both the cleint and their dog/s in their home environment. Take note of their specific needs, show any references required and give full and complete detailed information on the services I provide. Offer clients the opportunity to join me on their dogs first or future walk to enable them to see how I interact with both their own dog and other dogs in my care. Complete the paperwork I require for my records. Discuss my daily routine and anything else my clients need to know.

I have emergency first aid treatment for dogs and horses, which is regularly updated and maintained. Training and understanding canine behaviour qualifications. Attend regular courses when needed, 3rd party liability insurance and DRB checked. Many years experience with a variety of breeds. A friendly, flexible attitude to work and most of all love working with and owning dogs and love being outside, at one with nature!

I have always worked with and around animals and horses and owned both either as a full time career or for my leisure during the time I spent working for an airline. When I started a family I decided to further my career and experience within the canine and equine world as I found friends and family often calling in me to dog sit or walk their dig whilst I was out with mine or look after them at times when they had holidays booked but couldn't find a good kennel or were fully booked and was told by many people that I should consider making my services available to the public as they found that finding good dog walkers/ sitters was a difficult task and they found the way I interacted with dogs and treated my own was a rare and unique understanding of a digs needs and they had total trust in my ability to care for their furry family member and knew that should anything happen, I would deal with it in a calm and professional manner..and they always used to say "why not make a career out of what you love doing and get to be around animals all the time and get paid for it" !

I have worked with a large variety of clients with a large variety of needs and working with the different breeds of dogs they have. Many are very particular on when and where their dog/s will be collected and exercised, many from very large and secure properties with not only access codes needed to access their property but house security alarms to set on entry/exit to the house to collect/drop off their dog. They state what their requirements are when the dog is returned home, ( ie if fed, left treats, washed/cleaned and any other information relating to their usual routine) and given any updates on how their dog has been whilst out and about

I recently took part in an online course learning about different breeds varied behaviours and physiology and techniques of massaging and connecting with dogs in the way that they behave and connect with fellow canines. I wanted to learn how to adapt the knowledge I already of using natural horsemanship methods to train and work around horses..where you connect with horses using the method they use to interact with fellow equines using body language and no whips or force is used to correct any bad behaviour. I have always believed that any animal should never be hit or bullied when dealing with any issue they may have and that they deserve a human to understand how they communicate with each in the wild. In recent years, thanks to the likes of Ceasar Milan and Monty Roberts, natural techniques have been made more prominent and available to owners of canines and equines...and I have alot of respect for them, believe in them and am very grateful for making the public aware that these techniques are a much better way forward !

Always ensure that your dog walker has both knowledge and experience with all breeds of dogs? Do they have an understanding and the ability to carry out basic first aid treatments? Will they take on dogs that have behaviour issues? Are they insured to carry clients dogs in their vehicle? Have they got 3rd party insurance that covers them for any accident where your dog may have an incident with another dog or person whilst out walking with the dog walker? Do they use a specific vet for any emergency treatment that may be needed should their dog be involved in an accident? Are they DBS checked? Do they show an ability to bond with your dog when first meeting your dog and are friendly and flexible to your needs?

How long are the dog walks? Do I get any discount for my 2/3 dog? Where do I go on walks? Do I have references? Am I experienced and know how to carry out basic first aid? Do I do day dog care? Do I have to book much in advance and can I dance last minute? How many dogs do I take at a time?
