Yousouf Jhugroo I am the founder of Compliance and Risk Consultancy- CRC The Compliance Experts, and its five sub-divisional group of companies. I initiated the setting up of the Institute for Consumer Protection (ICP) in Mauritius and was later appointed as its Chief Executive. ICP is a Consumers International Member organisation. I have worked in the world consumer movement for over 20 years. During that time I ran various training workshops on Consumer Education in Africa and served as visiting Lecturer at the Mauritius Institute of Education (A Government Teachers’ training institution, part of the University of Mauritius). As a Consumer Advocate, I also served on various Government Boards, such Central Water Authority, Central Electricity Board and the Mauritius Meat Authority I have good working experience in teaching and journalism. I was editor of a weekly consumer magazine and a quarterly magazine focussing on maternal and child health, with emphasis on breastfeeding and infant nutrition I am a certified Real Estate Manager from the Dubai Real Estate Institute, a division of Dubai Land Department. Legally trained and Fellow of the International Compliance Association (ICA), I held senior compliance and contract management positions in the railway industry and was Head of Compliance for a national regulatory body in the UK energy efficiency sector. I have also been a senior associate of many NGOs such as the International Baby Foods Action Network (IBFAN). I served as Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative Consultant for UNICEF and Government Health Authorities in various African countries I studied LLM with the University of Law and MSc in Health Services at Swansea University in UK. I am fluent in both French and English
