Professional experienceMy name is Luminita and I am an Acupuncturist trained at the prestigious International College of Oriental Medicine, East Grinstead, where I achieved a BSc (Hons) and a Licentiate in Acupuncture, awarded through the University of Greenwich.
I have been a Registered Nurse for 36 years and a Dowser for 25 years and I always knew that there was something missing which prevented people to achieve the health and wellbeing they deserved and that, with acupuncture, I can help people on their way to wellness.
I always wanted to be a holistic therapist and I am happy to have been given the chance to take this path in my career.
I am fascinated by Chinese Medicine History and Philosophy and I know that Acupuncture is the bridge that links Western Medicine to Chinese Medicine for a better understanding of the patho-physiology of disease manifesting differently in different individuals. Using this approach, the root cause of the problem is treated, not just the symptoms.
I have made the target of my professional career to integrate all my knowledge to help people achieve their full potential by giving the mind a healthy body. My approach is to holistically involve the person in their treatment by explaining the process I am following, embodying nurturing the emotional being as well as the physical one. I have been trained in Classical Chinese Acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Five elements Acupuncture and Stems and Branches.
I am particularly attached professionally in treating cancer diagnosed individuals as well as stress, anxiety, muscular-skeletal pain, digestive disorders, women’s health and fertility and many more. Acupuncture is very efficient in alleviating the side-effects of chemotherapy such as nausea and vomiting, hypertension, lymphoedema, increased risk of stroke, chemotherapy induced menopause.
I am constantly amazed by our body’s ability to heal itself. My goal is to help facilitate this and remind the body of its true purpose: to be a whole.
